‘Tyaga’ holds audience spellbound

A dance drama “Tyaga” presented by Rajashri Praharaj and students of Srjan here on March 20 kept the audience spellbound. The programme was supported by the Union Ministry of Culture.

The Odishi presentation inspired by musical and theatrical elements of the Odia Geetinatya and based on the moving tale of “Lakhyaheera” was written by noted dramatist Kartik Ghosh. It was a deeply moving story about two women, self-sacrificing and devoted.

The choreography was done by Srjan director Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra, music was composed by Lakshmikant Palit, script by Jaydev Das and light was operated by Debiprasad Mishra.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were noted Odishi dancer Dr Minati Mishra, actress Anu Choudhury, and Srjan director Mohapatra. The programme was compeered by Dr Srinibas Ghatuari.
