Tamil Nadu Government decided to hold off its decision of opening of schools for Class 9-12 on November 16 amidst Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Chennai, 12/11: Tamil Nadu Government declared that the decision to reopen schools for Class 9-12 amidst safety guidelines has been postponed. Two weeks ago, the State Government had declared that the schools would be reopened for Class 9-12 with proper safety guidelines, keeping the pandemic in view, but the decision has been reversed now. Colleges and Universities will reopen on December 2, as they too were scheduled to open on November 16, but only for research scholars and final year post-graduation students of science and technology streams.
