Former Cricketer and Bengal Minister Resigns

Kolkata, 5/1: Bengal Minister and Former Cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla has resigned from the Mamata Banerjee led Government. Shukla was West Bengal Minister-of-State, Department of Youth Services and Sports.

He has also resigned from his post of District President of Howrah. However, he continues to be a TMC MLA.

Last month many TMC MLAs including party stalwart  Suvendu Adhikari had resigned from the TMC and joined BJP. His younger brother also followed in his footsteps and joined the BJP.

It will be interesting to see if former Bengal Ranji Captain joins BJP or not. If rumours are to be believed Shukla plans to quit politics altogether.
