New Delhi, 29/12 : The Government of Delhi has made a change in the plan to distribute mid-day meal in government schools. Due to the closure of the school in Delhi due to the corona, the government was transferring money from the month of March to the accounts of the students’ parents instead of the mid-day meal. But now the Delhi government has decided that the ration will be given to the students in the name of their parents.
According to the Kejriwal government, about 8 lakh school students will be distributed ration kits throughout Delhi. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Education Minister Manish Sisodia arrived to distribute mid-day meal ration kit at the Government Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mandavali. Wheat, rice, oil, and pulses are being distributed in the ration kit.
Actually, a mid-day meal is provided free of cost to children in Delhi’s government schools. Delhi schools were closed due to Corona, so the Delhi government was transferring money to the accounts of the students’ parents instead of the mid-day meal. But now the Delhi government has decided that they will give ration to their parents in the name of the students. Parents can get ration kits from the child’s school. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today launched this scheme ‘Mid-day meal ration kit’ and launched the ration kit.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that dry ration in Delhi will be distributed from the parent’s school of 8 lakh children. This is the country’s first plan. As long as the schools are closed, the plan for mid-day meal ration will continue. According to the information, a total of 20 kg of grains (wheat, rice, pulses) and oil will be available in this ration kit for the primary class.
At the same time, 30 kg ration (wheat, rice, pulses) and oil will be available for the upper primary. This scheme will remain in force for the next 6 months and a 6-month ration kit is being given simultaneously.
