He was the secretary of then-Bishop, he went to become the chancellor of Catholic Diocese in Kottayam. The other convict, Sister Sephy, stayed in the same hostel as Sister Abhaya and was in charge of the hostel as reported by NDTV.

The Punishments of the two accused will be announced on Wednesday.

Sister Abhaya’s case is the longest-running investigation in the state of Kerela. ‘Justice’ is delivered to her after a long wait of 28 years. What took so long? Why wasn’t the authority taking swift actions? Were the rich and powerful able to suppress the case? Sister Abhaya may have got justice today but the people fighting for her are suffering for 28 years. Isn’t this the classic case of ‘Justice delayed is Justice denied?’
