Geneva, 22/12: ‘Sanitization not enough’, ‘masks not enough’, ‘social distance not enough’, ‘vaccines not enough’, these are few statements by the World Health Organization over the last few months. It seemed nothing was good enough to make coronavirus go away. On Monday the WHO said that the new covid strains found in the UK is ‘not out of control’ and can be contained using the existing measures.
“We have had a much higher (contamination rate) at different points in this pandemic and we’ve got it under control,” so this situation is not in that sense out of control. But it cannot be left to its own devices.” WHO’s emergencies chief Michael Ryan told a press conference.
On Sunday Britain had imposed a strict lockdown on its citizens owing to the new mutant coronavirus strains found in the country. Many European countries have shut their airline services with the UK. On Monday India also temporarily suspended all its flights to and from Britain.
