New Delhi, 18/1: In the quest to improve India’s vaccination drive, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India is developing four new vaccines. The SII claims that the trial of the vaccine is in full swing and it may roll out soon. The Covid 19 vaccine ‘Covishield’ manufactured by the Institute is being used in India’s vaccination drive.
Suresh Jadhav, Executive Director of the Serum Institute, said during a webinar that SII is working on a total of five vaccines against the virus, including Covishield. The Serum Institute of India has partnered with Novavax Inc. to manufacture its potential COVID-19 vaccine for India and other countries.
A total of 2,24,301 beneficiaries (2,07,229 on day one) vaccinated till 17th January as per the provisional reports, according to the union health ministry.
