Tesla may start selling Cars in India from Next Year
New Delhi, 29/12: Minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has said that Elon Musk’s electric car company will start selling vehicles there next year.
“Tesla’s operations will begin with sales in early 2021 and then “maybe” look at assembling and manufacturing vehicles in the country” Gadkari was quoted by Indian Express.
Tesla has always been interested in entering the Indian market but according to the company some government regulations were acting as roadblocks.
Gadkari told the Indian newspaper that he is hopeful that India will emerge as the No. 1 manufacturing hub for auto in five years.
