6.9 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia

Jakarta, 21/8: An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 has rocked eastern  Indonesia on Friday. No immediate reports of casualties have been reported and no Tsunami alert has been given.

The depth of the earthquake was  600 kilometres (375 miles) about 220 kilometres south of Katabu on the island of Sulawesi.
