New Delhi.16/12:PM Modi expressed his distress over the ongoing protest against the hugely controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. He tweeted “Violent protests on the Citizenship Amendment Act are unfortunate and deeply distressing. Debate, discussion, and dissent are essential parts of democracy but, never has damage to public property and disturbance of normal life been a part of our ethos,”

He also appealed the citizen to remain together and work together for the development of underprivileged people and don’t let the people with a vested interest to divide them.
