Universities and Colleges reopen in UP with 50% attendance
Universities and colleges reopened in Uttar Pradesh today with 50% attendance. The higher educational institutes have been allowed to reopen in a phased manner following COVID-19 guidelines.
Lucknow, 23/11: Universities and colleges in Uttar Pradesh reopened today with 50% attendance. In a first, Banaras Hindu University(BHU) allowed the Ph.D. scholars of Science stream to continue their research at the laboratory or visit their respective departments. Several core committees have been formed by the BHU administration to ensure the guidelines are followed properly. Sources from the administration said that they are observing the first phase of the reopening and will take decisions about the future of other departments soon.
Students have been instructed to wear masks and maintain social distancing inside the campus at all times. All the students and teaching staff are instructed to follow the guidelines and wear their ID cards inside the campus all the time and sign the movement register of the hostel. Students were delighted after being back at their universities and said that they will follow the guidelines at all times.
