Arnab Goswami granted bail by Supreme Court

New Delhi, 11/11: Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami gets his bail granted by a two-judge bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Indira Banerjee of the Supreme Court. Goswami was arrested from his home last week after a case of abetment to suicide was re-opened against him by the Maharastra Government. Goswami along with two other persons was accused of abetting the suicide of an interior developer and the case against him had been dropped in 2018, only to have the Maharastra Government re-open it last week and arrest the persons named in the suicide letter of the interior developer.

The petition was heard by the judges via video conferencing and later, Justice Chandrachud remarked that he was not a viewer of Goswami’s news channel and that without the interference of constitutional courts, the country was traveling well into the path of destruction.
