Mumbai, 27/12: Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has always found himself in legal trouble time and again. This time it is for his latest movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The Alia Bhatt starer is based on The Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi.
According to the reports, a case has been filed against the makers, Alia, Zaidi, and reporter Jane Borges for ‘indecent representation’. The case has been registered by Gangubai’s son Babuji Rawji Shah who has objected certain pages from the book by Zaidi.
Shah’s lawyer said, “Ever since the promo of the film came out, rumours have spread and Shah has been harassed in his own locality. His leg was fractured from being hit. His relatives are also suffering as they are now being known as coming from a ‘prostitute family’.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali had faced legal trouble during the shoot of his film ‘Padmavat’. His film set was vandalised by Karni Sena and the film was banned in Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
