New Delhi(Wellington), 30/11: The third T2OI between the host New Zealand and visitor West Indies had to be abandoned because of the heavy downpour at Mount Maunganui led to players and umpires seeking cover. Only 2.2 overs were bowled, and West Indies were batting at 25 at the loss of 1 wicket before rain took control of the game. The abandonment of the match concluded the 3-match series as New Zealand won the series 2-0. New Zealand had won the first T20I of the series by five wickets and the second T20I by 72 runs against a West Indies who had got out of the COVID-19 isolation on Thursday. The Kiwi Pacer Lockie Ferguson was named Man of the Series for his five-wicket haul in the first match as well as one wicket each in the second and the abandoned third match. West Indies will face New Zealand in a two-match Test series which begins on Thursday at Hamilton.
