Bhutan ends free travel for Indian passport holders

Bhutan,5/2: In sad news for Indian travel enthusiasts, Bhutan put an end to the free travel provided to the Indian passport holders. Now, Indian passport holders have to pay Rs 1200 per day to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty, stunning landscapes of Bhutan.

Travelers from Bangladesh and Maldives will also be included in this scheme.

As for children between the age of 6 and 12 years, a fee of Rs 600 needs to be paid.

The fee, called a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), is a provision recently introduced by the Bhutanese government to help regulate the heavy tourist traffic in the country.
