Let’s Go Yeah!! PUBG Mobile to be back in India.

Krafton Games announces the Indian version of popular online mobile game PUBG to be back in India soon.

Bhubaneswar,12/11: THE WAIT IS OVER!! Popular online mobile game PUBG will be back in India soon. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had banned 118 Chinese apps and games back in early September. The second phase of this ban saw the Indian Government impose a ban on one of the prominent and most popular mobile games in India, PUBG Mobile, and PUBG Mobile Lite. Player Unknowns: Battle Ground or PUBG as it is known popularly was not just a form of entertainment for a major percentage of the Indian youth, but it was also a form of earning money via streaming, and championships. The ban was imposed because the developer of the game, Tencent Inc. was a China-based company and it was hinted that these companies were stealing the information of Indian citizens via the registration into these games. Prior to the ban, another popular game, Call of Duty Mobile too had its development and distribution linked to Tencent Inc. but the parent company of the game, Activision, played their cards at the right time and decided to pull back from the deal, thus getting out of the danger of getting banned. According to several prominent gamers, YouTubers, and streamers, PUBG was the game that put India back in the E-sports world. During the eXTREMEISLAND 2018 CounterStrike: Global Offensive Finals or esports battle, OpTic India’s player “forsaken” used a cheat code and was caught by the officials. This was India’s debut in esports and the use of the cheat code not only ended the player’s career, but it also made Indian esports players lose respect among their opponents. PUBG launched its mobile version in partnership with the Chinese game-developer Tencent Inc. and at once, it became immensely popular among Indian youth who could not afford high-end consoles or PCs to play other popular battle-royal games like Fortnite. PUBG put the Indian esports back in the scene and as a result, tons of talented gamers, who could not afford a personal console now turned to their mobiles to play the game.

As per the recent developments, PUBG Corporation decided to re-launch the game in India where the new version will be called PUBG Mobile India. According to the developers, this version is designed specifically for Indian users with some special features. The South Korean Corporation of PUBG said that the game will be very secure and will also offer healthy gameplay, which is supposed to be under the set of terms and conditions mandated by the Indian Government. The parent company, Krafton Games recently tied up with Microsoft to store user data on Azure Cloud, which is also available in India following all the terms and conditions of the Government. In the new version, the players will start the game fully clothed, addressing specifically to the Indian culture whereas in older versions, the characters used to be half-naked. The game will also take place in virtual simulation training grounds that are familiar to the Indian users. Another important feature of the new version will be that the game-time will be restricted to promote “healthy gameplay habits for younger players”. The PUBG Corporation has also announced that it will create an Indian subsidiary, with a staff strength of about 100 to enhance the communication and services with the users.

Apart from the new features of the game, PUBG Corporation is also making investments worth $100million in the Indian subcontinent to “cultivate the local video game, eports, entertainment, and IT industries.” This investment, according to the company, will be dedicated to hosting esports events and championships and promote local players, which in turn will boost India’s esports gaming scene.

Several popular gamers, streamers, and YouTubers, along with PUBG Mobile India notably including “Gaurav” of the Youtube Channel “Technical Guruji”, Indian esports pros “Scout”, “Dynamo”, “Thug” of “8-bit” clan, “Maxtern”, “Jonathan”, “Tsment Sid” have predicted that PUBG Mobile will be back before November 16, 2020.
