All You Need to Know About Swati Rathore, the first Woman to lead the Republic Day Parade flypast

Indian Air Force Flight Lieutenant Swati Rathore’s name will always be etched in golden letters in the history books. She will be the first woman to lead the Republic Day parade flypast on January 26.

Here are a few things you need to know about Swati:

Swati is born to Dr. Bhavani Singh Rathore. He is the Deputy Director in the state’s Agriculture Department.

She was born in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. She completed her early education in Ajmer. She was a patriot from the childhood days. She used to paint the tri-color in painting competitions, her parents made her join the NCC- Air Wing after school, which took her closer to her dream of serving the nation.

Swati always cherished the dream to become a pilot and was selected in the IAF in her first attempt in 2014. Her brother is also serving in the Merchant Navy.

In 2013, Swati appeared in the Air Force Common Admission Test. After clearing it, she was called for an interview by the Air Force Selection Board, Dehradun, in March 2014. According to Swati, there were around 200 female candidates from all around the country and 98 were selected among them.

She has made the entire nation proud of her achievement. Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje has praised her via Twitter.
