BioNTech Founder among world’s richest after UK greens the vaccine
BioNTech founder, Ugur Sahin entered the World's richest after the UK Government approved the COVID-19 vaccine prepared by the pharma company.
New Delhi(Berlin), 4/12: Ugur Sahin, the founder of pharmaceutical company BioNTech, onThursday, ranked 493rd on the World’s Richest list after the Government of the United Kingdom(UK) gave approval to the use of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by the company. Sahin is the co-founder of BioNTech SE, and his company has been in a partnership with American Pfizer Inc. for the development of the vaccine for COVID-19.
As per reports, BioNTech’s shares jumped almost 8% this week and more than 250% for the year. Sahin is ranked 493rd with a net worth of $5.1billion, as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The German physician, however, didn’t respond to requests for comment by BioNTech’s press office.
