Bhubaneswar: Recently many cases of missing minor girls are popping up in Odisha. From Pari murder case to a two-year-old girl going missing for 5 months in Jajpur district has created a lot of stir in the State.
In one such incident, the body of a seven-year-old girl was found near a pond at Sundarkoili near Baliapal in Balasore district on Monday morning. The victim named Neuli went missing on Friday. The girl’s family told police that she was living at her uncle’s house at Sundarkoili. She was last seen playing with her friends around 9 am last Friday and then went missing.
Police said they have detained a youth for interrogation on suspicion of his involvement in the case. The exact cause of death can be ascertained after the post mortem, police added.
With all these heinous crimes increasing in Odisha and the inability of the authorities to put a stop to these crimes is worrying the people. Is the state turning into an unsafe haven for these little girls?
