Sydney, 9/1: Australia is in the driver’s seat in the Sydney Test match against India. At the end of Day 3, Australia Scored 103 runs for the loss of two wickets. Laguschagne and Steve Smith are unbeaten on 47 and 29 respectively. Australia has a lead of 197 so far.
Earlier in the Day India continued its defensive approach and last Rahane at the score of 117. Hanuma Vihari departed soon after scoring 4 runs. Rishabh Pant and Cheteswar Pujara stitched a partnership, but Pant departed soon after getting hit in his left arm. Pujara played a very slow innings and scored 50 off 176 balls before getting out. Pujara’s innings pushed India back as he became ultra-defensive, which put pressure on other batsmen as well. Three of the Indian wickets fell of run-outs which was unnecessary. In a test match, it’s a crime to get run out in the quest of stealing quick singles. India were bundled out for 244, handing Australia a healthy and probably match-winning lead of 94.
With the overall lead already at 197, the Aussies would look to add few more runs before they have a go at India with the ball. India might b given a big target on a pitch that is offering inconsistent bounce. It will be nothing less than a miracle if India saves this test match.
