French Open postponed due to Coronavirus outbreak

Paris,18/3: After men’s ATP Tour, women’s WTA Tour and the ITF got called off due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus across the globe, the Roland Garros has now also been delayed to later this year on Tuesday (March 17).

The high-profile French Open was originally scheduled for 18 May to 7 June but due to the COVID-19 outspread, the tournament has now been moved back to 20 September – 4 October.

The French Tennis Federation said in a statement.“Though nobody is able to predict what the situation will be on 18th May, the current confinement measures have made it impossible for us to continue with our preparations and, as a result, we are unable to hold the tournament on the dates originally planned,”
