Veteran Congress leader dies from COVID-19
Veteran Congress leader, Ahmed Patel, died from COVID-19 at a Gurugram hospital on Wednesday morning. Patel was 71 years old at the time of his death.
New Delhi, 25/11: Ahmed Patel, a veteran Congress leader and Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi’s most trusted political advisor, died of COVID-19 on Wednesday morning. Mr. Patel was 71 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Patel had tested positive for COVID-19 on 1 October 2020 and had urged everyone who had been in contact with him to undergo self-quarantine. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) of Medanta Hospital, Gurugram on 15 November 2020 after his condition worsened.
Faisal Patel, son of the Congress veteran tweeted, “With profound grief & sorrow, I regret to announce the sad and untimely demise of my father, Mr. Ahmed Patel at 25/11/2020, 03:30 AM. After testing positive for COVID-19 around a month back, his health worsened further due to multiple organ failures. May Allah grant him Jannatul firdaus, inshallah”. He also urged all the well-wishers as well as the citizens of the country to avoid social gatherings and maintain social distancing, and follow COVID-19 guidelines properly.

I have lost an irreplaceable comrade, a faithful colleague and a friend. I mourn his passing and I feel deeply for his bereaved family to whom I offer my sincere feelings of empathy and support,”Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi tweeted, mourning the death of her most trusted advisor.
