New Delhi, 2/3: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to refer the case to the larger bench against the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The apex court said the five-judge bench would continue to hear cases pending under Section 370.
On August 5, 2016, a number of petitions were filed in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutional validity of the Central Government’s abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The petitioners, the People’s Union of Civil Liberties, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association and a third party, requested that the petitions be handed over to a larger bench for hearing.
