Nashik, 21/4: Twenty-two people died after the oxygen supply was interrupted at Dr. Zakir Hussain Municipal Hospital in Maharashtra’s Nashik on Wednesday.
The oxygen supply was interrupted after a leakage in one of the storage tankers. The incident took place at 10 am, said an official.
Around 157 patients were undergoing treatment at the Covid-19 hospital when the incident occurred, the official said.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident and announced that an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakhs will be provided to the kin of the deceased.
