Dead body of the 3-year-old missing girl found in Nayagarh
Nayagarh,15/12: A 3-year-old girl who had gone missing was found dead in a pond at Badhipatna village under Ranpur police limits in the district, today. Police have recovered the body and started an investigation to ascertain the reason behind her death.
The girl went missing on December 11 while she was playing near her house. Her family members had lodged a missing complaint with the police. As many as three police teams were formed to trace the missing girl. Odisha Fire Service personnel and sniffer dogs were engaged during the search operation. Wells and ponds in the village were also searched by the Fire personnel.
The body of a 7-year-old girl was found in Balasore on Monday. The dead girl was missing for 5 months before she died.
The increasing cases of missing and dead minor girls are rising rapidly in the state. The state police’s incompetency to stop the crime is making parents worried. Are the authorities silent because the minor girls belong to poor or lower middle-class families? Would they sit and do nothing if an influential person faced such a problem? Will the police ever catch the culprits? The question hangs in the air.
